Dubya, Oedipus, and Narcissus
May 13th, 2008So many many books detailing Dubya’s daily dastardly deeds, yet but only one answering the question “why?” In his book, “Shrinking Dubya’s Head, or Calling God About Dubya’s Calling,” Dr. Carneades presents compelling evidence that the “why?” vis a vis the Iraq War, is Oedipus/Narcissus revisited. Dubya, the cheerleader, Poppy the captain of the Yale baseball team. Dubya the deserter during the Vietnam War, Poppy the decorated World War II hero. Dubya, the driller of dry oil wells, Poppy the successful oil man. Dubya the crass, arrogant, usedcar salesman/politician, Poppy the statesman of the Grand Old Party. But, Poppy, leader of the coalition which drove Saddam from Kuwait, while Dubya invaded Iraq and took-out Saddam, thereby proving he was a better man than Poppy after all, and that Mommy Bush’s Little Lord Narcissus had fulfilled her prophesy.
